Hi again,
the Inkscape developers have published a summary of their work on Hackfest Day 2 in Leeds here:
https://plus.google.com/+inkscape/posts/ENoe5dPEYNe
If you're curious how this translates into code, just take a look at the long list of new commits to the Inkscape development branch made since the Hackfest started (the commit messages may seem cryptic, but the shear amount should tell you something about how hard they're working!):
http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~inkscape.dev/inkscape/trunk/changes
If you haven't yet, you might want to support their efforts and future hackfests by making a donation: https://inkscape.org/en/support-us/hackfest-2016/
Kind regards, Maren
Let's hear it for the hackers!!
Hip-Hip-Hooray!!!
THANK YOU, developers! :D

Thanks Maren, your updates are really good.
Everyone at the Inkscape Dinner last night agreed! :-D
Additional: On day three I added updates to barcode output to create EAN2/5 extensions for EAN13 barcodes. So for magazine and books who want the extensions.
