Launch Ikscape with default theme
Hi!
I still making an Inkscape course documentation and I need to do some screenshots.
I want the screenshots be as Inkscape default appearance, but I can't do that cause my desktop (Debian GNU/Linux + XFCE) is configured with an icon theme. This theme.
So, when I launch Inkscape it looks great with these nice icons, but it is not a good idea to teach newbies using Inkscape screenshots that does not looks like his running inkscapes.
How I can start Inkscape ignoring my environment icon theme.
Thanks a lot!
Hi,
it is possible to feed a separate .gtkrc-2 file when starting Inkscape.
(see https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/GTK+ , section 'Themes', and later, the one about icons.)
Then you'd still need to find an icon theme that does not contain any Inkscape icons. And after that, I have no idea if it then tries to get them from the fallback theme of the system first, before it gets to try and fetch them from Inkscape, though ....
I agree this is super annoying... People even wrote an open letter a couple days ago... (https://stopthemingmy.app/).
The good thing is that 1.0 will not have this issue anymore, and for 0.92.5, maybe the load order changes could be backported...? Patrick knows more about this, and will be able to tell if that is feasible.
