Hi,
I have been using Adobe Illustrator for years, just found Inkscape and like it a lot!
There is one problem that I could not find a solution for and maybe someone can help me with it: I imported bmp graphics from Gimp, put several together and added vector graphics in Inkscape. When I am exporting the graphics to png for input back into Gimp, I get thin grey lines at the borders of the originally imported bmp graphics. These lines don't show up on screen or when I print from Inkscape, but they are there in Gimp and MSPowerPoint. Any idea how I could avoid those lines? My workaround is to save the graphic as jpg in Gimp and then manually errase them, which is no fun.
Thanks for any suggestions in advance,
msb

Why don't you just import an SVG file right into Gimp? That way you'll eliminate one step of your work. Just don't forget to save as Plain SVG in Inkscape ;)

Hi,
I tried that but then Gimp imports only the Inkscape-created graphics and not the underlying bmp/png graphics previously imported into Inkscape. All graphics are in one layer. Both Inkscape svg and Plain/Normal svg give the same result.

Hi,
I thought that you put your images together in Gimp and then import just the vector graphics from Inkscape into Gimp.
1. Stitch your bmp images in Gimp. 2. Create vector graphics in Inkscape 3. Import SVG into Gimp.
