2020-06-17 10-35-57 PDT Mc (but ultimately it should be @speleo3 's decision as he's your main mentor and who should see how "on schedule" you are for now - a few days, if you are on time with the proposed schedule (and not falling behind), is completely doable to recover -) 2020-06-17 11-31-48 PDT Mc (french-speaker comment : "Forme" means "Shape" in french, so the fact that both functions exist is quite amazing :D ) 2020-06-17 10-25-10 PDT Mc :) 2020-06-17 10-33-08 PDT Mc imo taking three days (20-21 is a weekend) to get the end of academic year done with (rather than asking for an extension) is a reasonable ask 2020-06-17 10-26-19 PDT Moazin There is a matter that I need to discuss with you mentors. 2020-06-17 10-28-19 PDT Moazin So the thing is as you would probably know I am in the senior year of my university. (I was supposed to have graduated by June). Due to COVID, the university was closed and then they started some online education system too. The exams and my thesis were scheduled for later. However, suddenly they sent us an email telling that we have to submit our thesis on 24th June and deliver a presentation on 29 June. It's very hard to manage this with GSoC. I was wondering if it would be possible to do reduced work for the upcoming few days, I'll of course make up for it. I totally understand if this is not possible, in that situation I'll have to ask the university to give me an extension in the project which will have its own downsides. 2020-06-17 10-25-24 PDT Moazin Hi Everyone 2020-06-17 11-03-50 PDT Moazin Thanks @speleo3 and @Mc. I am really grateful that you guys are very helpful and supportive. :-) I'll try my best to get done with understanding `Shape::ConvertToShape` and `Shape::ConvertToForme` within the next 3 days and then get started on the thesis. Hopefully when I get back to coding after 25th I'll be ready to start coding these. 2020-06-17 10-28-46 PDT Moazin I was thinking of working as much as possible for the next few days and taking time off from 20 to 25 June. 2020-06-18 00-14-12 PDT Moazin Interestingly, both of them do the opposite job. One is path -> digraph and the other one is digraph -> path :D 2020-06-17 10-29-16 PDT Moazin Do you guys think it'd be possible? 2020-06-18 00-16-25 PDT Moazin I have learned some other words too. bord -> edge, batard -> bastard, aretes -> edges 2020-06-17 10-31-50 PDT Moazin A brief update on the project: I finished the work with Path Simplification (which was the goal for the first two weeks) and am working on understanding the Path -> Digraph -> Path part. 2020-06-17 10-59-47 PDT Thomas Holder @moazin I think your thesis should have highest priority. Your progress looks great so far, taking a week off to work on the thesis is perfectly fine with me. 2020-06-17 12-04-23 PDT Patrick Ha, next-level overloads :-D
