2019-09-20 21-25-35 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>I'd like to create a more open market for this kind of work to provide people with solutions ... much of it is simple enough and can enable some income flow.

2019-06-17 00-39-30 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>Also, despite there being notes on this in the team_devel_mac (if you search for: "iconv") we removed it from the notes on the website (Issue #84 and I think on another issue where it came up as a "fix") and as far as I know, we're keeping that under our hat so that others do not go around fiddling with creating circular symbolic links to "nothing" on their files system. ;)
2019-09-20 21-26-30 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>Although I hesitate to get involved to any deliberate degree. People who do not have a clue can be a pain in the ass, and it often is not worth a nickel to try. ;)
2019-09-07 14-22-48 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>Cisco does this with some of the deprecated hardware and software on certain systems. This ought to be no different in approach (in so far as we can recognize that hardware is fixed and software is mutable (but cardinal)).

2020-05-04 09-25-03 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>So maybe they just got their settings off and it needs to be restored, I'm thinking.
2020-05-04 09-14-21 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>May I bother you for a moment? I just saw two new separate posts on the forums indicating the same behavior I mentioned several days ago regarding objects not appearing on canvas after they are drawn and given fill with outline. When you shift the Display Mode to "Outline" you can see the objects outline, but when you switch to any other mode (like "Normal"), it isn't visible (but you can still select it). I was just drawing a box or a circle to test this. Any ideas?
2019-09-07 14-17-36 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>René and I (as well as many others) have proved that there are limits to backward compatibility - however we also have seen that by moving forward enough, we can bridge to the prior. Kind of an interesting: "Hey, everyone! We can preserve this and still be innovative!" example of consistent cooperation sends the right word for history.
2019-07-09 16-34-18 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>What version of macOS was it that we were trying to get a target for ? 10.10 or 10.11 ?

2020-05-04 09-37-51 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>I'm guessing that there is a keyboard shortcut to focus on the opacity box and it gets clobbered without them noticing, perhaps. Or they're intentionally changing it without noticing ... who knows. It may seem like a bug, but it's probably just sloppy technique and easy to set to zero without always being aware of that.
2020-05-04 09-24-13 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>When I draw the first object, the opacity is set to 100, but when I release the mouse, the opacity goes to zero. It stays at zero until you change it back to 100, then stays there.

2019-09-21 09-45-14 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>René has a different method that produces a signed DMG, it just is not easy to reproduce, IMHO. I had hoped to keep the macOS build process simple ...
2020-05-04 09-43-51 PDTNathan Johansen <nathan@npj.com>I have no idea - I am an idiot and do that to myself on occasion, also - however I seldom play with the opacity, which makes me wonder how it's going to zero without my noticing.

2020-05-04 09-18-16 PDTWindell Oskay <windell@evilmadscientist.com>Let me take a look.
2019-06-16 23-51-42 PDTWindell Oskay <windell@evilmadscientist.com>Thank you, but I'm just testing with daily builds from CI, plus the extensions -- it works well enough, and helps out with testing for "real world" issues like this. :)
2019-07-09 16-40-52 PDTWindell Oskay <windell@evilmadscientist.com>I don't know if any hard target was ever set. Either of those is far enough back IMO; it should be limited by what's possible. 10.10 was released in 2014, 10.11 in 2015, as points of reference.
2019-09-20 21-16-15 PDTWindell Oskay <windell@evilmadscientist.com>That was one of our users that I've been talking to by email-- wouldn't do that much good to have her asking plotter-specific questions here instead.
2020-05-04 09-42-21 PDTWindell Oskay <windell@evilmadscientist.com>Is there a straightforward way to return settings to draw things with a fill or stroke and opacity? I've been bitten by this a few times over the years as well.

2019-09-21 09-27-57 PDTWindell Oskay <windell@evilmadscientist.com>Is there something in particular about it that you'd like to revisit?
2020-05-04 09-35-24 PDTWindell Oskay <windell@evilmadscientist.com>I've seen settings like this quite a few times, drawing with 0 opacity or no fill/stroke. The first one seems to have resolved itself (yes, opacity).
