2020-01-24 17-16-04 PSTJabier Arraiza <jabier.arraiza@marker.es>But you are on windows
2020-01-24 17-52-43 PSTJabier Arraiza <jabier.arraiza@marker.es>You have a domain?
2020-01-24 17-15-14 PSTJabier Arraiza <jabier.arraiza@marker.es>Secure copy protocol
2020-01-24 17-11-34 PSTJabier Arraiza <jabier.arraiza@marker.es>Alpha.inkscape.org
2020-01-24 17-09-43 PSTJabier Arraiza <jabier.arraiza@marker.es>When shutdown we still have it available in read mode
2020-01-24 16-40-19 PSTJabier Arraiza <jabier.arraiza@marker.es>think give FTP acces could be a problem because exception
2020-01-24 17-15-56 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Oh, I've never seen that page before (alpha.inkscape). So I would need....what do I need? Permission to upload to that page?
2020-01-24 03-35-45 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>@jabiertxof I wanted to move this page https://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php so it stays alive after Inkscape Community is closed. I thought my ISP would provide a little space, enough for that page. But I just found out they don't give me any space. A little while ago you asked me if I wanted to put any part of Inkscape Community on Inkscape server. Would there be some way to do that, where I would still have access to it, so I could keep the page updated?
2020-01-24 17-10-39 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Oh, I thought you meant inkscape.org. Sorry.
2020-01-24 17-17-59 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Instead of making me all official, could I just send you the files?
2020-01-26 06-41-55 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Ok. Thanks.
2020-01-24 17-17-23 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Well I would need a terminal to put the command in. Oh, I have putty. I needed it once, but never used it again.
2020-01-25 22-01-39 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>If 1.0 launch is less than one month, I can wait. But I can't wait 2, 4, 6, months. Why does it matter about the 2 archive forums launch?
2020-01-24 17-22-19 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>It sounds like it's going to be complicated to make me official enough. Let me do a little searching, and find out if maybe I can find a cheap place to host it. If I can't find any other place, I'll come back to you, and see if we can make it work. OK?
2020-01-24 17-12-27 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>I thought about that too. I can edit the file myself, and just send it to you, and you can overwrite it on alpha. But giving me command might work. Would it be the same command to upload the image files, as to upload the html file?
2020-01-24 16-38-12 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>It's html page. No php. I take the php out. I have 2 questions. So the page could keep it's graphics (background, custom bullets, custom titles) I would need to be able to upload several small image files. Is that possible? And the other question, would I be able to access the file, so I could update now and then?
2019-09-10 08-10-45 PDTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Ok. This is a different moderation system, so I'll still help here. I might not be visiting as much, but we'll see what happens.
2020-01-24 17-16-31 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Yes, windows
2020-01-24 16-51-14 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Ok, thanks jabier. Most of that, I don't know how to do (don't even know what scp is). But I wanted to find out if possible. I will have to look somewhere else. Maybe I can use a cheap shared server. I prefer vps, but even the smallest one, probably too expensive. But I'll search. Thanks again!
2020-01-24 18-14-28 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>Hhmm.... Good point. I have 2 domains now (inkscapecommunity.com and inkscapecuttingdesign.com). But I was just about to give them up. SIGH!! Maybe using Inkscape server is the best option. As far as I understand, there are 2 ways to go. 1 - I need to get whatever credentials I need to be able to upload to alpha.inkscape. Or 2 - send you the files and you can upload them. I don't want to make more work for you, even if it's just 15 minutes now and then. So I need to get whatever credentials I need, to be able to upload. Unless! Maybe we need to make the discussion public, so other users of the server can give comments? Maybe there would be other ideas? Maren wants me to put the page on GitLab. I resist that, because I find GL hard to use, and often maddening! So that's the last thing I want to do. But someone might have a good idea?
2020-01-24 17-04-55 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>I don't understand about editing the home page of the whole site. I'm not even sure what the real home page is, or why I need to edit.
2020-01-26 03-45-56 PSTbrynn <brynn@frii.com>I don't understand what you mean.
