2020-10-19 09-15-19 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | I'm also raising money to continue the work on the connector tool and I'm looking for sponsors. If you are interested or know people who are, please do get them in touch. |

2020-10-20 08-53-34 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | What operating system are you using? You can always use the portable Inkscape instead of a VM |
2020-10-19 09-28-29 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | OK I will! |
2020-10-20 08-40-03 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | Is this with 1.1 or 1.0.1? |
2020-10-06 04-10-02 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | Great, so you are the copyright holder and you should decide on the right license. I would recommend a Public Domain or CC0 license to allow others to use your symbol drawings without restrictions. |

2020-10-20 09-00-05 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | Markers is still broken, line width seems correct. Don't forget the shapes created are Clones, not copies, so resizing should be avoided. |
2020-10-06 04-07-29 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | I am a good person to ask. |
2020-10-06 04-23-07 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | OK. Let me know in #team_devel because I don't want to forget your work. You can also create an issue in https://inkscape.org/report to make sure your work is added |
2020-10-06 04-16-00 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | What operating system are you working on? |
2020-10-20 08-41-21 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | I don't know, but if I test now then I can figure it out. |

2020-10-19 09-18-21 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | This only deals with subpoints, and is only useful if you are using the 1.1 development version. |
2020-10-06 04-08-31 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | Additional: have the symbols been tested with the latest unstable version which inclues the multi-connector-point functionality? |
2020-10-06 04-07-36 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | What license are the symbols under? |
2020-10-19 09-30-26 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | Is this correct,only these symbols? |
2020-10-20 08-56-44 PDT | Martin Owens <doctormo@geek-2.com> | You should download the AppImage version, you can set the execute bit and just execute it as a program (a self contained program) |
2020-10-20 08-49-16 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | okay, thanks a lot. If I have some time tomorrow i will install an virtual machine with the latest inkscape to test this. Don't want my working system with software out of official sources, because it is for work. |
2020-10-06 04-15-13 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | okay, that sounds good. Maybe i will wait till this is included in the next official build of inkscape, so i will not get in trouble by installing software on the system that is not under the packet manager control. After testing this, I can try to spend the symbols to Inkscape. Do I need to change the repository of the symbol set to the inkscape-repository? |
2020-10-19 23-41-33 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | These are all symbols: |
2020-10-20 08-40-33 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | Clipboard - 20. Oktober 2020 17:40 (https://chat.inkscape.org/file-upload/bum7dc5eAFvFBh4y9/Clipboard%20-%2020.%20Oktober%202020%2017:40) |
2020-10-20 08-38-51 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | Dear doctormo, i had some free minutes today, so i tried out to test the symbols function again. But i had the same trouble as last time. When pulling the objects to the symbols and push them back to a new inkscape sheet, the original size is not there. Some elements are missing (like arrows) and resizing the elements is also not working even with disabled scaling contour. |
2020-10-06 04-16-47 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | Manjaro Linux |
2020-10-20 08-40-36 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | 1.0.1 |
2020-10-19 09-24-12 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | So I will wait for having the official 1.1 release, think this is the easiest way. May I will upload them to the user-gallery before. But may you can review them? I don't know if I have done everything right or if something basic is still missing. |
2020-10-20 08-57-25 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | okay, I will try this next, thanks a lot |
2020-10-19 09-10-14 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | Dear Doctormo, as talked a few days before, I added CC0 license to the symbol set. https://github.com/upb-lea/Inkscape_electric_Symbols Before set this figures to channel #team_devel or to a git-issue, may you can review these symbols by trying out? May I need to make real symbols out of them, but in the past I had some problems with that. Please let me know some details. May we can also have a phone call (we have an own jitsi-server). What is your time zone? Mine is UTC+2 |
2020-10-20 08-40-44 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | Is this fixed in 1.1.0? |
2020-10-06 04-11-17 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | Yes, So I can set them to CC0, i will do that |
2020-10-06 04-09-12 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | I draw these by myself. All Symbols can also be found in ISO60617 standard (for electrical drawings). Lot of programs (like microsoft visio) also use this symbol set. |
2020-10-06 04-10-43 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | No, the symbols are not drawn in the latest unstable. This is version 1.0.1 (2020-09-07) running on manjaro linux (from manjaro software sources). |
2020-10-20 08-53-57 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | ah, this sounds good. it is Manjaro Linux. |
2020-10-19 23-41-17 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | I did not mount them into the symbolsmenu due to I had some problems with that in the past. So they are just in the file. So I will try to put them again in the symbols menu |

2020-10-06 04-07-06 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | Dear doctormo, for electric symbols, we developed a symbol set, that is not default available in inkscape. Is it possible to integrate this symbols in the inkscape program? Whom can I turn to ask? https://github.com/upb-lea/Inkscape_electric_Symbols Is this a good idea? what do you think? |
2020-10-19 09-24-40 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | I have not used inkscape for that long. |
2020-10-19 09-17-40 PDT | Doenermann <foerster@lea.upb.de> | okay, thanks for this information, I will try to try out again. When making some symbols in the past, I had some trouble with the size when I set the symbols to the sheet. I will check this out. |
