You can visit the settings page at https://inkscape.org/alerts/forums.forum_topic_alert/settings/?next=/alerts/... and you will see the Send Email Alert option. There are more settings for other alerts on the website too, once you've saved this page.

I've noticed that a recent style update to the website has actually caused some issues with the page, if you have a lot of forum subscriptions you may not be able to see the save settings button. If this is the case, don't worry, I'll get it fixed and you can let me know if you're effected.
