Hello Inkscape. This is Finn Downey. I am writing to you because I have once again been trying to use your program to draw a picture. But it seems like the more I add to it, the slower it seems to function. I mean whenever I try to move a certain object from one spot to another, it just lags behind at an extremely slow speed. I have tried many techniques such as hitting the clean up document button and even getting rid of filters but neither of those seem to work. Do you have any ideas? Also the version of Inkscape that I use is 1.1 but if I tried using version 1.3 do you think that might not lag so much? Also is it possible to upload a new Inkscape version on my computer without getting rid of the old one? Also do you think giving my computer a clean with CCleaner might make it run faster? If so running it wouldn’t delete any of my inkscape files, would it? Thank you kindly.
Dear Finn Downey,
This is the website adminitrator. I usually help with website issues such as logging in, or spam.
To find help with inkscape you need to see the community section of the website. Specifically the chat and forum links e.g. https://chat.inkscape.org/
In general, yes, upgrading Inkscape should improve speed between 1.1 and 1.3, depending on the operating system.
Good luck.
