For a desktop app like Inkscape a LOT of the code is GUI code. Rewriting all of that, and maintaining it, just for the Mac would be a massive amount of work for little real gain (as most of the developers are on Linux anyway it seems).

I don't see the relevance of this ... if 'creatives' want a free vector editor they can use a platform where one exists (for instance, Linux/BSD/Windows/any other platform Inkscape supports to the needed level)
