In my eyes, it would make sense for all of the vector file format hackers to focus energy on that project as it will probably become standard in the OSS vector community.
Of course we have not made any official commitment to integrate that with inkscape that I'm aware of, but it seems highly likely.
It looks interesting, but the whole world would be a worse place to live if I started coding :))
