I would say, its more OCAL than Inkscape related and I would like to see it in AbiWord, Gnumerik, Gimp, ... integrated too.
It would be nice to have it in all those apps, but we also need it on all platforms where Inkscape run, so we can close RFEs like this (for an object palette): https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=604309&aid=1262745...
