Yes, and I am still wanting to find out if the upload button does anything useful, like putting a file on the http://www.inkscape.org/cgi-bin/wiki.pl? webserver somewhere...

I don't know what that function does (I guess you're referring to the Upload link which is in the header of every Wiki page). I'm CCing the development list, probably someone can enlighten us.
