Thus my vote is to keep this feature, but make it a combination of "zoom to selection" and "previous zoom", so that second pressing of Q brings you back.

OK, what about this: if you're already zoomed to selection, 3 will perform previous zoom, otherwise zoom to selection. Makes sense?
