I am hoping to try and get in on GSoC again this year because it would seem that having it as a "job" is the only way to ensure I have time to contribute during school (boooo!). Ideally, what I would like to do is continue with the font work I was doing before; that is, trying to support non-CSS fonts. This would require the ability to contribute and change Pango, and I have no idea if they would want to do that. So I will soon try to talk to those guys and see what they think.
If that doesn't work out, I would be interested in working on anything text, including UI if so desired. Think about what items might be desired and that are GSoC'able (something like underlines, for example, has the potential to be too much to get something bug free ready, not sure).
As a tref update, I have at least narrowed down the problems to be between a couple of my unrelated commits. Good in the sense that it probably means I didn't create the issue, but bad because that makes it that much harder to find the exact cause. Will be spending some more time compiling and recomipling tonight.
