But it's hardly an Adobe tool :) Among classic vector graphics editors only Corel DRAW (since X3) has it, to the best of my knowledge. It's more about computer-aided drafting, really.

At a guess, it shouldn't be hard to implement as an extension, or possibly an LPE.

That was the plan -- LPE.
