Replacing the cairo lib shipped with Gimp 2.6 with the one that flickers in Inkscape gives the same result in Gimp. And IIRC, there's was an issue in the win32 build of gtk 2.18 and 2.20 that led to entries rendering problems (invisible values or invisible boxes). But maybe it's fixed in the most recent gtk libs.
