I missed the icon in the Node Tool Tool-Bar... It works as advertised.

There is no red line for Bend Path and Pattern Along Path (the
ones I
checked). The nodes are there and one can drag the invisible
path so it
is probably a bug. I'll file a bug report if it's not fixed in
a day or
so.

Hi,
After 0.46, a new icon was created to show/hide the "red line" of the
original path. It is located in the Node toolbar.
Are you sure you checked this ?
