I tried to talk to Victor about how to make a survey that can be the most useful for the community. But he felt we were making it too complicated.
Of course in these days of social media, anyone can make survey about anything, and get plenty of response. But unfortunately, this survey does not really tell us much. For one thing, it only tells about Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ users. It doesn't reach the whole user community.
But the biggest problem I see is that it has no purpose. Take an X-ray? Well yes, it's an x-ray of those Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ users who bothered to fill it out. But I'm still waiting to hear what we can do with an X-ray.
Don't get me wrong! I really super-appreciate anyone and everyone who wants to donate their time and energy to the project. I'm just puzzled about how we can really use the information that will be gathered.
I think at best, we can call this information "anecdotal". It can't really be used to guide development or solve problems. I'm sorry to be so negative, and I would love it if someone can show me a positive side.
All best, brynn

Have you posted it on the forum yet? I expect a lot of submissions could come from there

What's the twitter post so we can Retweet?
This is a bit late but why is there no forum option in question 8? We have a lot of users there and new ones come every week.

Ok! So against all odds I went ahead and published my personal, independent and unofficial Inkscape survey!
I tried LimeSurvey, SurveyMonkey and some others but they all had annoying limitations (needed to be a subscriber, accepted only 100 answers, allowed me to write only 10 questions (or so)) and those services were not working out for me.
So I went ahead and published 9 questions Inkscape users should answer to fill my own survey. Don't you guys be worried I'll take all the onus to process and show this data later.
I MADE SURE TO STATE THAT THE SURVEY IS INDEPENDENT AND UNOFFICIAL. So, again, no worries. The name of the community was not used by me by any means. :-)
I published in Twitter, Facebook communities (a few) and Google Plus.

The reason I'm using Google Forms is because it's easy for people to submit their answers, questions look good and all the survey takes less than 1 minute to answer.
Hope you all have an amazing weekend!
