Aaron Spike told me that he nevery could overcome the months-old problem that makes autopackage fail. On my system, when I try to run 0.44 autopackage I get:
./inkscape: error while loading shared libraries: libXfixes.so.3: cannot open shared object file:No such file or directory
Is there anyone who can help with this? It really is a shame that we stopped providing autopackages because of this.
In any case, we must fix it before we can think about 0.45, because now that we don't have static rpms anymore, not providing an autopackage will make the release pretty much useless on the Linux side - for those who don't want to compile, the only way to try it will be to wait for their distros to upgrade, which usually takes months.
