reverted my change, moved it to the wikiattic, and took it off the front page.

My first reaction to this edit is that someone is afraid of some well stated reasons why Inkscape come up short for a particular individual. The posting has been on the wiki for over five years. Have the import/export capabilities of Inkscape been improved since then? That is, is it possible "Grant" cold now use Inkscape for his/her purpose?
I wish we could get "Grant" to provide some contact information on http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/User:Grant and encourage him/her to try again if the capabilities have been improved. Are you there, Grant?

The Inkscape Wiki page User testimonials has been changed on 31 October 2011, see http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/User_testimonials for the current revision.
See http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php?title=User_testimonials&diff=0&a... for all changes since your last visit.
Grant has provided contact details at the end of his post. I guess his post should have been moved to the bug tracker. Right now, since it is so out-of-date and many things have happened on the pdf/eps-export front, the post has lost its value.
I think we should remove this page altogether. It is very out-of-date, but more importantly I do not like to have any user testimonials pro or contra on our own page. Testimonials are extremely subjective, and personally I just do not like to read 100 variations on "... rocks/sucks!" on any software's own website (or that it is better than some other program; most programs have non-overlapping feature sets and cannot be compared like that).
After removal I suggest: If a user is happy: encourage to write a tutorial on our wiki about something he likes so much. If a user is unhappy: encourage to write a bug report.
Ciao, Johan
I'd be 100% happy to just blow that page away.
