I know it's been on your personal list, which is kinda why I was asking. But I also knew that you haven't had much inkscape hacking time (but you've been fighting for the greater good)... I really wasn't sure if we were just rehashing the old conversation again for the new folks or what. :) So, are there any volunteers? I'm sure that if people need a little coaching that the dev community would be happy to help.

I'm volunteering to implement the gradient editor featured I proposed on the 25th of May in this mailing list. I will definitely need coaching, I looked at gradient-vector.ccp and I don't get it. Can someone point me to the part of the code responsible for the layer preview right at the top of the Gradient Editor dialog?
I will also try the Inkscape IRC channel in order to get "live" coaching, I hope you don't mind :-)
