That is cool, but it reveals a bug: when loaded into Inkscape SVN the effect versions disappear, unlike batik or firefox. This means inkscape recognizes them as LPEs but since it does not yet know these particular LPEs it fails to display them at all. The correct behavior in that case would be to not treat them as LPEs at all and just show them as paths, as all other renderers do. Ironically, Inkscape 0.45 shows them correctly.
I think this is an important thing to fix because we have, and are likely to continue to have, a broad mix of Inkscape versions being used in the wild, and looks like future versions will differ in the range of LPEs they understand.
