Alternatively, maybe a new launchpad project for such 'auxiliary' file(s) required for packaging on Mac OS X could be created/used - similar to the Windows devlibs (https://launchpad.net/inkscape-devlibs).
I'm still not sure that the existing devlibs solution is the best. They're binaries, not the best territory for a revision control system imho (although if only updating a few files, there's a benefit). I honestly think we might want to entertain going back to archive bundles.
Note, we also have to take into account that at some point we will need to have a second set of windows devlibs for 64bit binaries.
What are other people's thoughts on this?
