Hello inkscape-devel,
My name is Dmitry, I'm a student from Russia. I'm interested in
developing your project and participating in next Summer of Code (2009).
I want to know about ideas, which I can take part in. And I'm going to
make this work to be my master thesis at University.
GSoC2009 is not announced yet, so your timing is probably not optimal :)

We also happen to have solid foundation for some features that are not
written yet. E.g. 3D Box tool that could be used to create Extrusion
tool.
But the best project is a project where you implement something that
you are missing yourself in the application.
In the mean time you could start working on fixing bugs, because we
approve only those applicants who committed several (two?) patches to
fix some issues, which usually is an indicator that a student already
knows code base a little and won't procrastinate much.
