For those who upgrade, this basically means that they old prefs are lost. Can we do something about it? E.g. just add reading from ~/.inkscape on startup if ~/.config/Inkscape does not yet exist?
Well, the part I dislike about that is that we're going to have to keep that check around for theoretically forever. Which, even by a little, slows down our startup.
I'm working on trying to solve this desktop wide right now, this isn't uniquely an Inkscape problem. If that isn't ready by the time 0.47 ships, I think we should put it in 0.47, but drop for 0.48.
