It is not just about the logo and instruction material. We want to customize inkscape for school kids.

Our software XCLASS is used in primary schools,P1 to P6(students aged between 6 to 12). Since the current inkscape software is advance level for these kids, we want to introduce to them step by step for each year.

Each primary year, they can learn few topics in inkscape. Like to begin with basic shapes, then tracing, then layering and extracting and so on. As they go to higher classes, we can increase the level of tracing, calligraphy, designing and so on.

Some number of years ago....maybe almost 10 years ago, there was....I think it was a fork of Inkscape, called Kidscape, which was going to be developed as Inkscape for kids. Our software XCLASS is used in primary schools,P1 to P6(students aged between 6 to 12). Since the current inkscape software is advance level for these kids, we want to introduce to them step by step for each year.

Each primary year, they can learn few topics in inkscape. Like to begin with basic shapes, then tracing, then layering and extracting and so on. As they go to higher classes, we can increase the level of tracing, calligraphy, designing and so on.

I would like to invite Sun Tech Group to consider developing such a modification in the public under a generic name without specific branding (which can be added in later for your own distribution). This I suggest because it would involve the greatest reduction in cost for maintaining such a fork for your business.

We want to customize in such a way that our logo is added to inkscape and create different lessons for all section of students. Thank you for your interest in our project. I am glad that you liked the idea. We would like to know team size, duration, point of contact, status and so many other factors.

Also with respect to license and branding, our software XCLASS and DLL is widely used in educational institutions across the world. We would like to add inkscape(plugin) as a new feature and enhance our software. This would require modification as removing the inkscape logo and adding suntech logo to the software, although the UI is fine we would like to simplify as it would be used by primary school students. Also, we want to have different levels for each primary classes.

Please let me know your ideas or suggestions for developing this project.

I think the idea of an Inkscape for Kids is a really good idea. I would like to invite Sun Tech Group to consider developing such a modification in the public under a generic name without specific branding (which can be added in later for your own distribution). This I suggest because it would involve the greatest reduction in cost for maintaining such a fork for your business.

In addition to compliance to the GPL (https://inkscape.org/en/about/lic ense/), you must also comply with the Inkscape trademark usage policy ( https://inkscape.org/en/about/branding/) in whatever production you end up doing. Also please give me any point of contact of the board of developers. I am also aware of the inkscape license and we just want a simplified version of inkscape to be added to our software as a plugin. We are looking to modify the content with SunTech's logo and preferences. We want to introduce inkscape to primary schools from level1 to high school in different stages so that students develop their creativity as they move to higher classes. Our XCLASS software is also developed using C++. Since we don’t have enough bandwidth from our developers to customize inkscape, we are looking forward to the help of your developers since they know about the source code inside out, it could be easier for them too and we can finish off the project sooner.
