30 second video for the Inkscape project: New features & work from the past year
Okay, so there was not enough interest in doing the interview montage, so I'm back-burnering that one. :)
So instead, let's show them what's new in Inkscape! I am doing a brief video commercial for the Inkscape project with updates from the last year. So what are you favourite Inkscape features/progress.
This will replace the "two slides" at LGM, with something much more swish and polished to show off the hard work that's been done in Inkscape over the last year (starting from or around April last year).
What I need: A list of your favourite new features in Inkscape (developed in the last year, or that will be finished and/or working by the date of LGM in April).
I will combine them with mine and submit a video (after showing to everyone on this mailing list and #gimp to make sure we have all the facts right.
Cheers. -C
Although the #gimp people will probably like to see the Inkscape video, what i meant to say is #inkscape on freenode. :) Many of you are on both mailing lists, so the typo should not bee too much of a shocker. ^.^

CR,
There won't be anything developed last year ready for April, we've not put out a release yet (hopefully soon?) or do you mean just features committed to trunk?

Features committed to trunk will be fine. Also, anything not mentioned at last year's LGM will be fine also. I'll compile the latest GIMP in the months leading up to the event to keep up with the neat things in trunk. I think it's worth getting people excited about the 2.0 release, and I'm sure LGM folks would love to see upcoming features in action.

Er, wait, 1.0 for Inkscape. I promise, all this will be correct. Blah, too many mailing lists. ;P
So features for INKSCAPE that I'd like to highlight:
Basically everything I've seen Jabier doing on his Youtube Channel The ruler tool Anything from the 0.92 release page that is ready for testing (that page gives me joygasms).
Sorry for the mix-ups!

You should definitely include the font features work I did. This was a direct result of our meeting with Behdad Esfahbod at last years LGM. See:

There are probably some more things that I worked on in the past year that aren't on the 0.92 release page... I've been really bad at updating it. I'll have a look tomorrow.

I'm thinking about mesh gradients, object dialog, more blending modes, tapper stroke... sure miss a lot :(. Maybe are far away than 1 year but previous year no presentation about. Realy I don't view inkscape speach.

We threw together some presentation slides, but I've seen a lot of awesome come out of Inkscape since then that is worth shouting about, even if it's not completely done. We can definitely do better than just a few slides this year!
And yea, mesh gradients are awesome. Can't wait to try them out.

The new SVG 2 'auto-smoothing' option for meshes has been implemented. I've been meaning to blog about how to use it to quickly visualize 2D data... (i.e heat maps).
I've updated the 0.02 release notes with a whole bunch of things.
