Hi all,
This simple file: http://jo.irisson.free.fr/dropbox/badges_crash.svg repeatedly crashes Inkscape devel on my machine when I open it. And it have no idea why. Inkscape first crashed when editing this file (but the content I was editing at that time is not present in this file since it was lost). The document recovery did not work and this version is the last saved version which should not have been touched by Inkscape since I did not saved my changes.
I am suspecting something with the grid which has been flaky for a few revisions (grid space changing on its own, grid appearing when reopening docs in which it was not defined etc.).
I hope the file will be enough to diagnose the problem. If this can be reproduced I'll post a bug report in the brand new Launchpad bug tracker.

Worked ok for me on Linux with a copy of inkscape built about a month ago.

Hi JiHo,
Crashbugs are my specialty ;) so I tried to open the file and see the crash, but "unfortunately" it does not crash for me (SVN rev 16565). If it is grids that are crashing: I fixed this pretty recently (last friday, rev 16544), so you might need to SVN up?

I updated today, and it works fine for me on the latest revision. Sorry, couldn't test on an earlier one.

I can't reproduce it with latest SVN indeed so I guess it's OK. Latest SVN crashed on me again on a different operation but I cannot reproduce it and can't find a crash log so... Basically, as for the first one, it was based on a document with embedded bitmaps and lots of chained clones and Inkscape crashed when editing a duplicate of a group of clones (yes I like doing complicated stuff ;) )
Anyway, thanks for the replies and I'll try to get a better crash report next time.

I've just been noticing a very similar thing with the latest build. It was a file with linked images that were clipped, though, and lots of clones. I had no problems with the previous build I was using (about a week old), then I updated yesterday and whenever I try to move the group of stuff it crashes. Every time. I might file a bug if it persists through the next build.

Heh, I might have solved this last night :) btw, don't use tabs in source! You are using Windows right? Notepad++ can show tabs/spaces very clearly, and it is a very nice editor aswell have a look at it!

Appears to work for me now. Thanks.
