Good morning,
I would like to let you know an idea I had regarding the circle tool. I feel it difficult to take into consideration centers and radi of the circles I create with Inkscape. Therefore, I suggest adding a new way (not deleting the pre-existing one) to create circles, as in Geogebra (you can try it for free online), where the first time you click defines the center and the final double click the radius, so you can see how the circle grows while you are editing it and it would be easier to do tangents, as well as many other things...
I hope you'll take this idea into consideration.
Have a nice day!
Hi. The problem of course, is that the circle tool also make ellipses. :) However if you start your circle, and hold ctrl+alt+shift, it will do kinda what you want, which is draw a circle with the cursor as the origin point in the centre of the circle, and constrain the ratio to a circle, and place the cursor on the circumference of the circle while you are dragging. Turn on snapping to be able to make circles on tangents etc.
Hope it helps! -C

Seem like the tangent works just for b-spline and regular splines. Spiro path on the other hand is something that didn't work for me. There's still this dubious workaround with spiro path with show handles which is very hard to explain. I think I"ll just put it into a picture. For perpendicular direction, just rotate the reference 90 angle and then you go on from there.
