Okay, at this point, do we really have any reason to continue the freeze? We're only (as far as I know) waiting for the splash artwork.
I think we should create the release branch if we've not done so already, and unfreeze trunk so people can continue working. When the artwork's done, we'll be tagging and releasing from the release branch anyway.
