Since we are talking about dialogs :)
Mental, a while back you added a tab to Layers dialog that says "Layers". It's the only tab there. Are you planning to add some functionality to the dialog for 0.47? If not, maybe it would be wise to revert this change? As it is now, the dialog doesn't look like the rest of the dialogs.

Btw, about layers dialog, it would be handy to have a button there to move the selection up or down one layer (or to another layer you would select or whatever, but something that let you move the selection around).

Moving selection to a particular layer was requested before, IIRC. As for up/down a layer, you can do it from keyboard. But maybe it wouldn't work for hardcore tablet users :)
There a whole lot of functionality still missing in Layers dialog, and some bugs not fixed too.

Eventually I want to add "Objects" (i.e. the often-requested "object tree") as a second tab. However, that's obviously not happening before the release, so it's not unreasonable to remove.

Current OSX Layers dialog is missing icons for "closed eye" and "locked." This makes it change item heights and widths on every change, very unpolished.
I have been trying to fix layers-related things since I joined the dev group, but I am not making any changes at all now that the feature freeze is in effect. Once it thaws post 0.47, I have some other ideas to consider for making layers/groups/objects and that dialog more powerful. Including what you were suggesting, Mentalguy. Maybe you can mentor me on the larger components of that work.
