Hi,
I will be giving an Inkscape status talk at the "Graphical Web" conference (formerly "SVG Open") in two weeks. It would be very useful if the release notes for 0.49 were up-to-date. I know there are some important things missing like the recent updates to the Text toolbar and the removal of the Gradient dialog. Can all developers who have made significant changes please up date the release notes if they haven't done so already?
Thanks,
Tsv

Hello Tav,
I see that you also want to discuss the GSoC results in one of your SVGOpen talks. The guides project is not finished yet, but will be (at least partly) in 0.49 I expect. Do you want me to write something about it already?
Cheers, Johan

Hi Johan,
Yes. Just a short summary of the work should suffice.
Thanks,
Tav

Unfortunately, the guides project has not been worked on after GSoC until now. There is still some work to be done to get it into 0.49 (most importantly, converting old-style guides to new-style). As it stands now, I think it is too early to make people too excited about it. Note thatt he old-style -> new-style conversion, although important for Inkscape development, will not be noticable for users. So I would hold off on speaking about it during your SVG Open talk.
regards, Johan
