CMS display adjustment change
Hi,
I just checked in an update with icc color profiles and setting display calibration.
Now upon startup latest SVN Inkscape will search the standard locations for profiles
~/.color/icc /usr/local/share/color/icc /usr/share/color/icc
Then under the misc preferences you'll have a checkbox for enabling display calibration, along with a drop-down combo box that allows you to pick between all RGB display profiles found.
Give it a rundown and let me know how it's behaving.
Thanks.

I did a fresh svn checkout on Sunday, and Inkscape built and ran correctly. There was an option in preferences to do display calibration or not.
This morning I did an svn update and now, Inkscape compiles correctly but fails on startup with an lcms error message about reading 0 bytes, expecting 128. (I will get the exact error message when I reboot into Linux).

That sounds like the right thing. I have profiles in /usr/share/color/icc
I may try moving them out the way, re-running inkscape, them moving them back one by one in case there is a dud profile in there. There may be, I have a few unusual ones.

AHA!!!!
Somewhere along the line the lcms error handler got lost. Should be fixed now.

Thanks, it works now.

Options for softproofing profile and rendering intents have now been added.
I'll probably need feedback to make sure it does everything correctly... at the moment I'm just wiring in the functions. Hopefully we can get correct results soon.

Are you sure they should not reside in dedicated "Color management" tab?

Looks like your latest commit has broken layout of the dialog:

It's gotten enough options now, and they seem to probably plan on staying system preferences for a while, so I did another checkin breaking things out to that separate tab you mentioned.

Of course they should!
