Eeek!
Any time for me to squeeze stuff in, or should I just hold off?

If you've got important bug fixers already coded, I think we coudl look at getting them in. I'm targeting 0.45.1 final on tuesday and I don't plan to be very flexable. ;-)

Hi! I just have a question about the about screen for 0.45.1: I sent an updated about screen a few days ago to the devel list, and never got a reply if it will be used or not. I cannot add it to the http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1671402&gro... patch tracker because I have no more admin rights (they're gone, don't know who downgraded my account though...)

Just a quick note to step in. I personally think that it is "disrespectful" (the word a bit strong, sorry I cannot find another word) to your work to ask you to change its color. You originally designed it red, people voted for it when it was red (maybe even _because_ it was red for some of them, who knows!) and changing it to blue does not respect your will and the voters will. In addition this particular blue is just an arbitrary color (Inkscape new "official" color is green and this blue is not even Inkscape original blue) and there is no particular reason why it should be better than red. I do not mean any harm to the original author of this patch but it is my impression that, because the about screen was chosen after a vote, it cannot be changed by the opinion of just one man. I kind of destroy the value of the vote (I don't know if I am making my point clearer or not here...) Plus, well, I liked it red ;-)
Just my two cents.

We don't have an official color to my knowledge. But if it went to vote I'm almost certain that the website green wouldn't make it. :-)

Me too!
I originally sent the mail to the list to collect opinions on the subject. I've got enough of those now! :-) I'm going to stick with my gut instinct and the original red About screen.

Lately, Sourceforge sometimes drops people's access. I'm not sure anyone downgraded molumen deliberately.
[ I can't log into Sourceforge to re-add him at the moment, could someone else please take care of this? ]

More importantly, aside from updating version numbers, we've been keeping the same about screen (as a matter of informal policy) for each entire 0.x series. I think we would need to discuss changing that policy first, if we want to start changing about screens for minor releases.

Well, personally I like the red color (that's why I designed it in red...), i just actually saw the proposed patch and thought that if a color change was imminent, then I'd better do it myself to keep the color contrast the same as the red one's (the proposed patches had too shiny and crisp color IMO.)
I'll do then the following: I'll update the version number in the red about screen, and submit here a link to the resulting SVG.
Thanks! Molumen
