Not the reason for this case. Messages are from Inkscape's PO files. It looks like there blend es and eu files.
Yes, it regularly happens. I know accidents in Ukrainian, Slovenian and other teams.
But wrong list... You should complain to ubuntu-translators@...228... or stop using Ubuntu-based distributions.
Some basque users told me another bugs like this happened some months ago in Launchpad with KDE module, in Ubuntu KDE's UI appears in Hungarian language instead of Basque. I'm not sure it that bug was fixed or not.
I use Debian, but other users prefer Ubuntu, and from my point of view, this is a really serious bug to be forget or don't take care of.
I'm going to contact them to solve this bug.
