But there is something weird there, at actual line 222 (previously 221) in file inkscape.nsi -- a previous copyright sign has become a question mark instead. The removed 221 line (in red) was this VIAddVersionKey LegalCopyright "© 2009 Inkscape" and the added 222 line (in green) is this VIAddVersionKey LegalCopyright "? 2009 Inkscape"
Yes, my editor changed it accidentaly but I reverted it in the subsequent revision.
I mean, where can I observe any change when using Inkscape ?
The only visible string it brings is the default layer name which you can observe in the bottom-left part of the interface.
Hmm. It seems I miss something here.
So: I'm on Windows. I put the localized default.ro.svg file here C:\Program Files\Inkscape\share\templates\ along with the others. The line with the layer label is this <g inkscape:label="Layer 1" inkscape:groupmode="layer" id="layer1" /> which in Romanian is like this <g inkscape:label="Strat 1" inkscape:groupmode="layer" id="layer1" /> in French like this <g inkscape:label="Calque 1" inkscape:groupmode="layer" id="layer1" /> and in German like this <g inkscape:label="Ebene 1" inkscape:groupmode="layer" id="layer1" />
My system is set to Romanian (everything, including OS UI strings) When I start Inkscape normally, the Inkscape UI is in Romanian (of course only those strings that are already translated). However, the label in that dropdown menu at bottom displays "Layer 1" (i.e. in English, not in Romanian). If I start Inkscape with set lang=fr, the UI goes French, *including* the layer label. If I start Inkscape with set lang=de, the UI goes German, *including* the layer label. What is different for my language ? (what is missing ?)
Ah, this, of course: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~inkscape.dev/inkscape/trunk/revision/8992
Thanks for noticing, It should work now.
