I'm sorry for this, it's a problem I caused by accidentaly commiting a broken version in r20879 (removed header).
Does it fix the missing encoding issues as well?

The problem was that the complete header was missing. I'm sorry again, I don't know how it could happen. Now the header is back. It contains "Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8\n" "Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit\n" and the content really is in UTF-8 so I guess there shouldn't be any problem with encoding.
