Hi all,
I'm updating Inkscape translation to Basque language.
I've got a dude about next messages:
#: ../src/sp-guide.cpp:405 #, c-format msgid "at %d degrees, through (%s,%s); <b>Ctrl</b>+click to delete" msgstr ""
Here, the 'trough' means something like a 'using a way', or is a noun (meaning something like a vessel)
I guest these other messages can be translate as:
#: ../src/widgets/toolbox.cpp:1930 msgid "triangle/tri-star" msgstr "hirukia/hru puntako izarra"
#: ../src/widgets/toolbox.cpp:1930 msgid "square/quad-star" msgstr "karratua/lau puntako izarra"
I mean 'triangle/', 'square/' are translatable, nor?
Thanks and best regards,
Dooteo

Hi Dooteo,
'through' in this context is an adverb meaning 'using a way'.
Cheers, Tim
Hi all,
There are messages which contains strings like 'feMorphology', but other messages are, ie "Morphology" (which are translatable).
Si I'm wondering if "<b>feMorphology</b> filter efect could be translate as "<b>Morphology</b>" (in Basque should be 'Morfologia').
Ouch, other question,
msgid "PLACEHOLDER, do not translate" msgstr ""
Shall we put in translation string 'PLACEHOLDER', like msgid "PLACEHOLDER, do not translate" msgstr ""
Or we must let it empty...
Best regards,
Dooteo
Hi again,
Right now, I'm reviewing Basque translated PO file's all messages. I hope to finish for tomorrow... :)
So, where should I submit the PO file? To this mail list?
Best regards,
Dooteo

Or you can create a bug report at launchpad and attach it there, then notify us (or not - we will notice and commit it anyway)
Alexandre
Ouch! I forgot that I was registered there yet :)
Thanks to refresh my mind...

Hi all,
Next message has no sense for me, how can a page be into an inch?
#: ../share/extensions/perfectboundcover.inx.h:13 msgid "Pages Per Inch (PPI)" msgstr ""
It could be Pixel per inch (if we are talking of a scanner), or points per inch (if we are talking about printers)... but pages?
Sounds like a joke :)
I think it should be "Points per inch"
Waiting for your answers,
Dooteo
Mmmmm... I'm going to reply to myself.
It's talking about how many pages are in a inch (in height, not as resolution of a printer), no?
In that case, forget previous message... and sorry!
Dooteo

Morphology is used in the drop-down button, while feMorphology is used in the description. The second is the name used in the SVG standard. In my case I translated the first one (so make it more friendly to new user) and left the second as is because it's standard reference.
Shall we put in translation string 'PLACEHOLDER', like msgid "PLACEHOLDER, do not translate" msgstr "" Or we must let it empty...
IIRC it isn't used at all, so it shouldn't matter. Anyway, I'll leave it blank.
Best regards, Dooteo
Cheers, Luca
Thanks Luca,
I'll do as you :)

I would say this could be expanded into: "going through a point with coordinates ()"
#: ../src/widgets/toolbox.cpp:1930 msgid "triangle/tri-star" msgstr "hirukia/hru puntako izarra"
#: ../src/widgets/toolbox.cpp:1930 msgid "square/quad-star" msgstr "karratua/lau puntako izarra"

I suppose so,yes.
