Hi Yuri, I fear we are not understanding each other; I am doing the exact steps shown in the document (if you look at my commit history you will see that I have done this before), and I'm still getting the same message: [image: inkscape_branch_error.png] Is the 1.1.x branch somehow locked or something?

I guess you have the developer account, right? Then this might not work exactly as expected. You should fork the repo (or create you branch separately from 1.1.x) and push the commits into the branch in your branch (replace the file in the branch) then create an MR in a common way. It might be possible to create a twink account just for translations.
I do not have the developer account and it works for me (see the screenshot attached to this message).
