Ambigous string in inkscape
This string:
"Choose this tab if you would like to see page info previously to apply DPI Switcher."
To me, both the meaning and the grammar seem to be dysfunctional. It's a recently added string, which must have passed into the code without proofreading.
Can anyone explain what it's supposed to mean?
It's similar to "Choose this tab if you would like to see a list of the fonts used/found."
Thanks, Sveinn í Felli

I’m not sure for the grammar, but the meaning looks correct to me.

It’s probably related to the three options described there: http://wiki.inkscape.org/wiki/index.php/Release_notes/0.92#Important_changes
It's similar to "Choose this tab if you would like to see a list of the fonts used/found."
Fonts? Why?

Thaks for the pointer, I think I found what this is about:
(default resolution was changed from 90dpi to 96dpi) In the menu Extensions --> Document, one is supposed to get to a dialog to change the DPI. My version of Inkscape chokes on the script, but the 'Show page info' item probably has this string as a tooltip. So, instead of directly running dpiswitcher.py you can see the page information first. I dont see dpiswitcher.py anywhere under the proper name 'DPI Switcher'.

The structure of the sentence is awful and the use of 'previously' makes no sense (to my knowledge). Unless I'm misunderstanding something, it would be better to have:
"Choose this tab if you would like to see page info before changing DPI" "Choose this tab if you would like to see page info before running dpiswitcher.py"

This string's translations in all languages were copied as fuzzies for the string above.
All the best,

Thanks again, Sveinn í Felli

The same for me — :).

Yes. Maren, should we email inkscape-devel to tell them about it? -- Sylvain

- If you want this to go into 0.92.1, submit a patch (quickly, before the string freeze/translation period), else I'd suggest a bug report.
