What to do with "deleted" strings in the po file
Hi there, I just noticed that my es.po file has a whole bunch of "deleted" strings at the end of the file, these lines start with "#~". There are about 10.000 lines that were probably in an earlier version of Inkscape but are no longer used.
Is it safe to delete those lines? In my case, it's 1/6 of the file, approx 300 KB.
Kind regards, -- *Lucas Vieites https://namedrop.io/lucasvieites* Blog @ codexion.com https://blog.codexion.com/ LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/in/lucasvieites
Hi Lucas,
some translation programs use the old strings as a source for their suggestions for new strings. And sometimes strings get removed accidentally.
But they are indeed not used for anything inside Inkscape.
So you can definitely remove them, but that removal may make translating a little bit harder for yourself later on.
Up to you!
Maren

Hi, these strings are usually kept for suggestions and context, if these strings are bad or misleading translations feel free to remove them.
