Erik,
could you pls also test the pre2 package. There are two bugs reporting that the delivered dll's cause problems on the start of inkscape.
Can you confirm that?

I am not a developer. I usually download current LATEST.EXE files and put them into a recent complete package download. I have run gdb in the past but not recently. If this is of use then I am happy to help. Just let me know what to download and what to look for. I run Win2000sp4.
