Excellent. Sorry I missed it! :)

Yes CR. This is what I suggested. We start our own and go from there. Things will slowly fall into place.
Have a great day!

I'd just let it resolve naturally. Lots of people from our group post to the Inkscape forum. I say we set up our own, start answering frequently asked questions there to start migrating people over without the drama.

We can try to talk to the InkscapeForum in the most peaceful and diplomatic way. If he/she does not collaborate with us we can start a new forum and mention in our site that the other one is NOT OFFICIAL forum. It can be used with no further problems but it is not endorsed by the project.
What do you think?

Oh my! I see... so the forum we have today was created by someone outside of the project team and became very popular. I see. Well... in this case never mind. I don't want to disturb everyone with this then... just thought that someone forgot to put the link to the forum since there is so much activity in there.
Let's pray for a peaceful and civilized solution soon then.
Thanks!

Indeed, InkscapeForum.com is the de facto official forum. It was removed from the links on the Community page (a couple or 3 years ago) because it came to light that except for spam control, there is no other significant management of the forum (just loyal and dedicated members, helping Inkscape users, day in and day out). In my opinion, it screams to be updated. We have no access to its server.
The single owner/admin has twice said he will provide the forum to become community managed. And now that the Inkscape project has it's own server, a new forum has been installed, and is ready and waiting for him to deposit the databases and other files. I guess we've been waiting around 4 or 5 months?
I'm not sure what we're going to do, but I guess it's probably time to address it, and decide what "Plan B" is going to be. Just my opinion though.
Certainly if it's databases are used to start the new official forum, it will be well-linked from the website!
All best, brynn

Hi Guys,
I am a long time inkscape user but I just recently found the forum. Maybe it is just me but isn't it possible for us to include the forum (www.inkscapeforum.com) in one of the main menus of the Inkscape website? (maybe under the option "community" of under the option "learn"?)
There such a rich wealth of knowledge and so many active discussions that I feel like I have rediscovered this application today altogether!
What do you think?
