that's a damn good point. if you put the dot back where it was then you'd expect inkscape to return to the way it was working before you moved it. anything else seems counter intuitive.
anyone else agree with this?

it would make more sense if inkscape returned to the first kind of curve if you returned the dot back to where it started.
