Sometime in October, Michael Wybrow proposed the following:
Hi John,
My apologies about this. This was caused by a regression in a new version of Pango, a library we use for determinining font metrics, among other things. This had a bug that caused a *massive* slowdown on Mac. You managed to download the pre3-1 package in the 45 minute window it was up on SourceForge before I noticed the problem, and corrected it with pre3-2. I'm glad you found the updated version, and sorry about wasting your time with the non-functional build.
Hey Michael,
No worries, these things happen and there's no need to apologize. I'm fortunate that there is someone like you out there packaging these things for me. It enables me to have four different versions installed simultaneously with no effort on my part.
I'm a happy camper.
