Hi,
I'm using linux operating system, suse9.2 distro,
I started with inkscape with the version inkscape-0.40-1.static.i686.rpm and everthing worked fine but when I updated to
inkscape-0.41-1.static.i686.rpm
The printings, in bitmap postscript, of my previous, and new documents (A4, landscape) are no longer good. What seems to happen is that the
drawing
is scaled up and does not completely fits in the page.
Thanks,
António Tomé.
P.s. In spite of this "minor problem" (my temporarily solution was
to
downgrade) this is a very nice piece of utility. Many thanks to its creators.
I believe that the issue is because pixel sizes were corrected between those versions (due to needing to be correct on the SVG spec). If I recall correctly, you can rescale them by decreasing the values of width and height by 25% for the incorrectly sized bitmaps. Basically, it's a fixed amount that it is off by and whatever it is (as I said I believe it's off by 25%), the problem will be corrected.
Another solution would be to change the 'units' under document preferences to the correct unit type used by the bitmaps (if it's set to "pt" it should be "px", or vice versa... again I don't remember the details). It's not that anything is broken, if anything something that wasn't right is now fixed. Hopefully this helps more than it confuses.
