[Inkscape-user] A question to all linux-fellows

Hi folks, I'm trying to install and explain to enjoy Inkscape 0.42 to an old friend of mine, equipped with a Windows98/Pentium II/32MbRam (yes, 32 !) but it didn't ! I also read developers can't follow this operating system so I wanna ask : Can I install a free linux distro and hopeing to install succesfully my beloved Inkscape on this notebook (it has 1,4Gb hard Disk) ?
