Why, there's a global "last set style." Some tools use it, others use their own fixed styles (you can change that in prefs).
So perhaps that's not the feature I want. Maybe the feature I want is an easy way to swap the fill style with the stroke style.
In SVN, you right-click the selected style indicator and choose "Swap fill and stroke".
I *think* this is where we might improve functionality with a palette of styles, in addition to just base colors. Click on the pen tool, touch the style you want to draw in, and then draw.
I like the idea of a palette too.
