It is a known problem that the default keyboard shortcut definitions don't work well with some keyboard layouts (on Macs, it's mostly with keys which - depending on the current input source (keyboard layout) - can only be accessed with the <option/alt> modifier pressed).
See for example this comment I had posted on Inkscapeforum.com answering a similar question by a Windows user with a German keyboard layout: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5214&p=22575#p22575 and this one (rather dated) about changing keyboard shortcuts on OS X: http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=3294&p=15661#p15379 to redefine the key mapping for affected shortcuts.
